Statement of Intent
My idea for my book cover is going to be the classic fairy-tale Cinderella but with a modern twist. I will doing the photo shoot in the studio, but I will need to do 2 photo shoots as I will need two different photographs one for the front of the cover and another for the back. I will do the two shoots at separate times as I will need to dress the shoots with different props. For the front cover photograph I’m setting the scene where Cinderella is cleaning her home where she lives with her evil stepmother and her two ugly step sisters, their house is an absolute mess after her step mum and sisters had a party the night before, Cinderella will be dressed in a cheap tracksuit, sort of dressed like a “chav”. The scene will be dressed with empty cheap beer cans all over the places, rubbish on the floor, ash trays overflowing with cigarette stubs. Cinderella will be stud cleaning with a bin bag in her hand and a Dyson Vacuum cleaner in the other. It will be easy to collect the props like beer cans and rubbish etc, I will have the area dressed up like a dining room, and I will be able to get a table and chairs from the college itself. For the back cover photograph I will have Cinderella all dressed up and ready to go to “the ball” a party at the club in town she was wanting to go to. For this photo shoot I will have the scene dressed like a club with her prince charming returning her shoe which she lost on the dance floor , I will dress the shoot up all glitzy and glamorous where Cinderella will be carrying a WKD in one hand and her fake Dolce & Gabbana handbag in the other. I will be making the costumes myself or hiring them. I will be using two models a guy and a girl both who I know personally but have had relevant experience being in a photo shoot.
